What if SALVATION is EASY?!
We'd feel pretty silly (at best) if achieving Immortality while here on earth was REALLY EASY at the Dawn of this New Spiritual Era, and yet we chose something harder, sacrificing eternal life, and "bartering our soul for a fleeting fancy" as Jesus said. That is EXACTLY today's situation!
In past eras, you had to live a life of monasticism, go through lifelong stages of spiritual evolution, practice stoic discipline, make extreme efforts, choose seclusion, reject the secular life, fight a terribly difficult battle, practice continual ritual, use clergy as intermediaries, live a life of deprived asceticism, and much more. TODAY, 'Abdu'l-Baha tells us, is the Age of Mercy, not of Justice! He tells us that Baha'u'llah brings us an OCEAN of gifts, of which Immortal Life is only ONE drop compared to past ages! In the kindest of words, we learn that "it's easier to please God than to please another human being," and "the highest form of the worship of God is to make another human being happy." Read some of these astonishing facts about the new era in which we are living, and how EASY Salvation can now be if we only recognize the new Prophet for our age! --
How often have things been simple and easy of accomplishment, and yet most men have been heedless, and busied themselves with that which wasteth their time!
Thou disappointest no one who has sought Thee, nor dost Thou keep back from Thee anyone who hath desired Thee.
Rely upon God, trust in Him, praise Him, and call Him continually to mind. He verily turneth trouble into ease, and sorrow into solace, and toil into utter peace. He verily hath dominion over all things.
Exultest thou over the treasures thou dost possess, knowing they shall perish? Rejoicest thou in that thou rulest a span of earth, when the whole world, in the estimation of the people of Bahá, is worth as much as the black in the eye of a dead ant? Abandon it unto such as have set their affections upon it, and turn thou unto Him Who is the Desire of the world.
All on the earth shall pass away; and this is the face of your Lord, the Almighty, the Well-Beloved. We have decreed, O people, that the highest and last end of all learning be the recognition of Him Who is the Object of all knowledge; and yet behold how ye have allowed your learning to shut you out, as by a veil, from Him Who is the Dayspring of this Light, through Whom every hidden thing hath been revealed. Say: This, verily, is the heaven in which the Mother Book is treasured, could ye but comprehend it. He it is Who hath caused the Rock to shout, and the Burning Bush to lift up its voice upon the Mount rising above the Holy Land, and proclaim: `The Kingdom is God's, the sovereign Lord of all, the All-Powerful, the Loving!' We have not entered any school, nor read any of your dissertations. Incline your ears to the words of this unlettered One, wherewith He summoneth you unto God, the Ever-Abiding. Better is this for you than all the treasures of the earth, could ye but comprehend it.
To simply call the Greatest Name of God is more profitable today than "all the knowledge of the sciences and all the wealth on the Earth!"
Much hath been written in the books of old concerning the various stages in the development of the soul, such as concupiscence, irascibility, inspiration, benevolence, contentment, Divine good-pleasure, and the like; the Pen of the Most High, however, is disinclined to dwell upon them. Every soul that walketh humbly with its God, in this Day, and cleaveth unto Him, shall find itself invested with the honor and glory of all goodly names and stations.
Thou hast asked Me concerning the nature of the soul. Know, verily, that the soul is a sign of God, a heavenly gem whose reality the most learned of men hath failed to grasp, and whose mystery no mind, however acute, can ever hope to unravel. It is the first among all created things to declare the excellence of its Creator, the first to recognize His glory, to cleave to His truth, and to bow down in adoration before Him. If it be faithful to God, it will reflect His light, and will, eventually, return unto Him. If it fail, however, in its allegiance to its Creator, it will become a victim to self and passion, and will, in the end, sink in their depths.
LOVE is the one means that ensureth true felicity both in this world and the next. Love revealeth with unfailing and limitless power the mysteries latent in the universe. Love is the most great law that ruleth this mighty and heavenly cycle. Love is… the supreme magnetic force that directeth the movements of the spheres in the celestial realms. The Love of God holds the atoms of your body together. The essence of love is for man to turn his heart to the Beloved One, and sever himself from all else but Him, and desire naught save that which is the desire of his Lord.
